If you think you believe in Yeshua — but you don’t know the commandments of YHWH… …
Sacrifice is not righteousness itself. It is a protection — a covering for mistakes. If a person sincerely wanted to live according to the commandments but made a mistake (broke the law out of ignorance, weakness, or by accident), he would bring a sacrifice — and in this way, he would remove the consequences of the mistake before YHWH. Sacrifice did not replace obedience — it only provided the opportunity to correct the violation and continue on the path of obedience.
Imagine it like car insurance: it does not give you permission to constantly break the rules, but it helps if you accidentally get into an accident. In the same way, a sacrifice does not free you from the law — it helps when you stumble.
The Commandments are the Word and will of YHWH, given to people as a path of life, justice, and holiness.
They were given to Israel to be kept and to teach those who wish to enter the family of YHWH.
These are not later-invented religious rules made by men, Pharisees, rabbis, or traditions.
Many who created such teachings and called them “the law” have in fact rejected the commandments of YHWH and replaced them with human regulations.
YHWH desires that every person — whether Jew or non-Jew — knows His will and lives by it. That is what the commandments are.
Conclusion:
• A sacrifice is needed when you already know the commandments and strive to follow them, but have stumbled.
• The commandments are the path YHWH wants you to walk every day.
You cannot choose one without the other. Without commandments, sacrifice is meaningless. Without sacrifice, there is no cleansing when you fail.
That is exactly why Yeshua (Jesus) came — as the final, perfect sacrifice for those who want to return to the commandments of YHWH and live by them.
That is why the Law is a tutor that leads to the Messiah:
Without the commandments, Yeshua is of no need — and no one can truly come to Him.
